arctic clothes

Charles asked the kids to help him put up the outdoor Christmas decor, and I used this as an excuse to pull out the kid's "arctic clothes". Ella told me that this is what people in the arctic wear. By this she means her winter coat, hat and mittens. If she only knew what true cold is.

Now, just so that you know, although the daytime temperature is typically between 65-75 degrees, the evening/night temperatures are in 45-55 degreesish. So, this wasn't complete torture.

I needed to know what sort of outerwear crisis we will be facing when we head up to our Arizona mountains next week. It will be cold there. Last time we went up in December I felt terrible as my kids were freezing. I just couldn't believe that it could actually be cold in this state. But up in the mountains, it is. This time we will be prepared!

Charlie came in sweating in his arctic clothes (although he never complained). Ella wants to wear her jacket and mittens to school every day!
