Road Trip ~ Kylie's backyard

IMG_8416

Kylie invited us to come over and swim and play in the backyard. We were so excited! This is exactly what we do at home, but the Smith backyard has a bit more foliage than we're used to. You could feel the life in the air!

tea party for two plus one lucky insect

It's springtime in Arizona and the grasshoppers are everywhere!

One lucky guy was invited to a tea party in our backyard!

Our good friends, the Smith family, were here visiting from Colorado. Luckily, Danika was just as excited as Ella to share tea with a member of the insect family.

They look so serious?!?

Sidenote: Kylie made the matching outfits for all the girls. (Sophie & Tuli too!) Aren't they great!

Tiny Town

Our first Colorado adventure was the Tiny Town Railroad!

On our way to Tiny Town, we had to traverse a bit of the city, starting out in Highlands Ranch and heading west on the highway...Charlie (especially) seemed very shocked by the sudden elevation changes and curvy roads, he would shout, "HANG ON" and hold tight to the car's roof handle. He wasn't scared, instead, very, very excited! Keep in mind - we were still in the city - then Charles decided to take us through Deer Creek Canyon. At this point, the kids started repeating lines from one of their favorite stories, We're Going on a Bear Hunt! The whole rest of the trip we were on a bear hunt...

We visited Tiny Town 2 years ago in 2006.
Ella (3 years), Danika (my friend Kylie's daughter, 11 months), Charlie (10 months)

Charlie (2 years 10 months), Sophie (11 months), Ella (5 years), Danika (2 years 11 months)

Ella was very excited to get back to Tiny Town, she remembers her visit 2 years ago vividly.

Charlie would wait for the train each time it circled around. Needless to say, he was VERY excited to be SO close!

The roundhouse!

Many businesses in town have donated small replicas of themselves creating the (child-size) Tiny Town village. The Rocky Mountain Harley dealership is always one of our favorites!

I love this picture, look at the way the kids are looking at each other...what do you think they were talking about?!?
