wiped out

Charles had the kids Friday night while I went to see the Sex and the City Movie. After a long day of errand running, the kids totally CRASHED out in front of the TV.
The movie, was great, and everything was wrapped up nice and neat, but sadly left me still wanting more. I don't think those girls have "more" in them, but you never know.

train table

Our new train table: promising hours of amusing indoor play (my fingers are crossed) as the outdoor temperatures keep rising. We purchased this off our community forum website last weekend. So far, the kids have played with it non-stop; it seems to keep interest as long as Mom or Dad set up a new challenging track design every day or so. We can't wait for Gran to arrive this week so she can add some unique arrangements!

red toes, winter clothes

During our cold weather last week Sophie was able to wear many new hand-me-downs that she will likely out-grow before winter. In this picture Sophie is wearing a shirt hand-batiked by Kylie! It's our favorite and I'm so glad we were able to wear it again! Also, please note, we've been keeping up on her toes, still red!

woohoo last day of school

Gracie, Jordan, Ella & Tessa

It rained on the last day of school. It NEVER rains here...or at least it's rare. The kids were so excited to jump in the puddles.

Graduation ~ Family Shot

pink jeep

For Ella's birthday, Great-Grandma Helen sent a pink jeep. We saved the unveiling for graduation night. Ella loves driving and Charlie loves riding! Thank You Grandma!

bouncing

Kylie sent bouncy balls for the kids this past Christmas. Just recently Charlie has really gotten good at it. He's bouncing everywhere!! And with his favorite superhero, Spiderman! He calls his hat his Pablo hat, as he looks like Pablo from the Backyardigans, Surf's Up episode (he says).

youtube

Charlie has discovered youtube! He loves to watch trains. His favorites are the real steam engines. I've shown him other types of videos (race cars, motorcycles, airplanes, etc.) but it always comes back to trains. I also thought it would be neat to see some videos that have been put to music, but Charlie likes the real train sounds the best!

Birthday Party

Our fancy girl! We couldn't help but see a resemblance to her favorite story book character, Fancy Nancy. She had a fancy crown (made by Aunt Robyn), a gorgeous lei, and most importantly, she carried a special leading stick ~ all color coordinated with her dress of course. We are so proud of her. We can't believe she is 5!

Now all the Hot Chix are five!
(We've told them they can have sleep overs when they are five, boy are we in trouble!)

Our Bride!

Ella's friend Kyra had a bridal birthday party. The girls wore pretty dresses, did their hair and nails. They had a fancy lunch and practiced "cutting" the cake. Lastly, they practiced walking down the aisle (over and over and over). We realized at the party, that Ella has been to all five of Kyra's birthday parties. We are so lucky to have made such great friendships!

First Pedicure

At the bridal birthday party, Kyra's daddy, Scot was in charge of nails. He had the honor of giving Sophie her first pedicure.

birthday crown

Today Ella celebrated her birthday at school. The class makes a crown for each student on their birthday. The little squares on the crown are little notes from each student. My favorites:
"Happy Birthday to you! You live in the zoo. I'm your friend" - Cady
"I will give you Hot Wheels" - Dimetri
"You'll be my friend forever" - Lexi

Sophie LOVES cheese!

Sophie has not been terribly fond of food. But, this week she has discovered cheese. She gets SO excited when we take it out of the fridge. She is now a connoisseur of both cheddar and mozzarella!

big bug?

This morning when Gracie & Nathan knocked they told me I had a BIG bug by my front door. Not quite a bug...but he sure was big. You can't really tell from the picture, but he's the biggest guy I've seen in our neighborhood.
