Red Rocks

heading inside

 as Charlie and I walk

 the girls run

 to get inside

getting ready for the concert tonight

heading up up up
dodging crazy exerciser people

we made it to the top!

When we were at Dinosaur Ridge the kids could see the amphitheater in the distance across the road and they were so very curious to see this interesting concert venue we said was inside the rocks. We drove by numerous times before we found a time when they weren't closed for a concert. The kids were thrilled! I love Red Rocks. Nostalgic memories of Blues Traveler on the Fourth of July, watching fireworks throughout the city while listening to John Popper play the Star Spangled Banner on the harmonica. Amazing stuff.

Day at the mall

First stop. American Girl.

This is just outside the store. The American Girl store is located in the new-er wing of the Park Meadows Mall. My favorite mall!

Sophie, carrying her (early) birthday presents to the cash register. There were hard choices to make, but we had an excellent sales girl that helped Sophie complete her decision. Hair, eyes, clothing...difficult picks. She ended up with Rebecca (from Gran) and a fancy party dress (from Mom & Dad).

Ella examining the horses in person!

Ella's Mia doll had her ears pierced at the hair salon. Now she has an entire set of sparkling jewels to change out! We also learned some tips on hair care. We bought a new brush and are ready to start styling!

Next stop. The Lego Store! Everyone loved the Lego store, especially the computer animated box display that showed you what was in the box, what it looked like put together, and an animated scene where the structure flies around, etc. Charlie came home with a new lego set to create with. More hard choices! Yikes.

Last stop, the Mellow Mushroom. A fantastic pizza restuarant. I've been waiting to bring the kids here and then yesterday I saw a Phoenix Groupon pop up for them. North east side of town. Go check it out. We ate enough carbs for the entire week! The evening was spent with our family friends the Berres. We savored Gran's fresh blueberry pie and my card-shark children challenged the unknowing neighbors to many a card game and they loved every minute.
