Dermabond and fairy wings

Last week, there was an incident involving soap in the eye and a toilet in the wrong place
resulting in Sophie's first experience with Dermabond.  Note her left eyebrow.
Honestly, it's a miracle this is the first time this has happened to this child...
these things seem to happen to her. Because of her Dermabond,
she has to wear hats now until...forever...I'm not sure. As of today,
it's all healed up, glue is gone. But, she will need to keep up with the hats.
On this particular day she wore her wings all day, to the pool for swim team,
to lunch at the Wildflower Cafe, to the dentist, and to the junk store in Phoenix
to sell off our junk (i.e. toys and clothing). They never once came off.
They were folded neatly behind her in her car seat
throughout our travels the entire day. She took them off when we got home.

Niabi Zoo

another perfect weather day
the kids rode horses
fed goats
watched dozens of animals
and found at least one
John Deere Gator to drive!

out to the country

an afternoon visit to Uncle Don & Aunt Sue's house

day with tractors

we looked and played
and played some more
but seriously
my kids really think
they need a
John Deere Gator

doesn't everyone!

Ham with Sauerkraut

We ordered our
Papa Johns the other night.
What a disappointment.
And all we could say is,
this is not Happy Joes.
I sure do miss that pizza!

Norton Clan

While we were in Iowa,
my Great Aunt LeAnn
hosted a party for the family.
All of my grandmother's
brothers and sister's were in attendance.
Most of their children, grand-children and great-grandchildren
were there as well.
The following are some of my favorite pictures.

Jamie (my cousin), Audrey (my sister), Robyn (my sister)

Rock Island Arsenal

a few weeks ago now
we vacationed in Iowa
one of our first stops ~
the Rock Island Arsenal

the weather was unbeatable that day
it rained most every other day we were there
but I can't complain
I'll take a rain shower any day
something about daily 115 degree heat
makes one appreciate clouds and precipitation
