I can remember going to Showbiz Pizza (now Chuck E Cheese) as a kid and playing arcade games all night to get a hand full of tickets to spend at the ticket counter. And boy was it exciting...all that work...and then picking out that fantastic prize.
Last week Ella hit the jack-pot at the arcade (at the bowling alley). The game she was playing decided to spit out ALL of it's tickets. This took some time and the machine was busy during this time. The funny part was that the kids seemed more upset that the game was unavailable than the fact that they now had enough tickets to get anything they wanted out of the prize machine.
Really, they were pretty uninterested in picking prizes out of this newfangled machine that sucks up your tickets, counts them, and delivers the prize of your choice. I am truly proud that our children would rather play the game than pick the prize. But, really I've never been a high-roller at the arcade, this was such a once in a lifetime experience. And now, I was able to pick prizes out for everyone...definitly more exciting for mom!
