Enchanted Island

This weekend, Charles and I took the birds to Enchanted Island at Encanto Park in Phoenix.

It was a beautiful day. Cloudy, with some rain drops, high of 84 degrees!! Unbelievable!

As soon as we unloaded the car, Ella found some mud and convinced everyone to draw pictures using sticks. Mud is a rarity in these parts, to be treasured.

Ella's masterpiece.

Daddy's masterpiece.

Sophie ended up getting both shoes stuck in the mud and had a rinse in the Encanto Park lagoon. She was not too thrilled to experience mud with bare feet nor the cold water of the lagoon. Thank goodness for Crocs!

Our first stop, the carousel.
Giving rides for over 50 years, this is the oldest continuously-operating carousel in Arizona.

Next up, the train.
This engine is one-third replica C.P. Huntington Train.

Ella's favorite ride, the Dragon Wagon (a mini roller coaster)! I never would have guessed?!? Would you believe, by the end of the day she graduated to no hands, giggling the whole way!

The kids drove cars and boats, flew airplanes and helicopters, and enjoyed cotton candy. We all had a great day.

It feels like an immense weight has been lifted from my shoulders. The change in the weather is FINALLY here!!

Fresh air...open windows...woohoooo!!!

I grew up in Encanto Park / Enchanted Island... my grandparents home is right around the corner. So glad that you took the kids there.
