for Daddy

It started with a bit of spring fever, a need to garden, some serious initiative,

and forgotten seeds found stashed in a kitchen drawer.

 For weeks Ella has been searching the house for seeds.

{Unbeknownst to her mother, she had a plan. Not too surprising ~ not the plan part but the unbeknownst part. I tell you, sometimes I feel so clueless.}

She pulled out last year's over-cooked daisies (this is what happens in Arizona) and

she planted and watered the newly found seeds.

She came in and said, "Mom, come look. I want Dad to be happy. This will make Dad happy."

She blew my socks off. Who is this kid? Where did she come from? When did she get old enough to do all this herself?!? She is so thoughtful. WOW.

We are presently waiting for our Kohl Rabi and Radish hedge to appear.

Now, thank goodness Kylie is on her way, because some gardening magic is needed in the Marshall backyard and it involves the covert creation of a vegetable hedge! (No pressure.)
